Hello, journaling friends and fiends!

On Friday, in the main newsletter, I talked about naming our feelings in order to TAME them, a process known in fancy science communities as “affect labeling,” or in this community, as “sweet, sweet relief.”

Today, we’re going to actually DO said fancy, science technique so that we can understand what the hell we’re feeling and how to soothe or savor those feelings using my very own Emotion Wheel. I even made you a journaling video to take you through it!

Back when I was grinding it out as an executive at Comedy Central, my emotional vocabulary consisted of exactly three words: stressed, tired, and fine. (And let’s be real - busy was my go-to, even though it’s not technically an emotion!) It wasn’t until I started using an Emotion Wheel that I realized there was a whole world of feelings I was completely ignoring. 

So today, I’m breaking it all down in a video just for you…

My challenge? Try using an Emotion Wheel once a day this week and see how it feels—you might be surprised at what comes up.
