I've Been MIA. Here's Why.
A note on where I've been in 2026 and an exciting announcement!
Hello, my sweet reader, and welcome to my first newsletter of 2026!
As you might have noticed, I fell off the face of the earth for a second there. 2026 has been a lot so far (some good, some bad!), but the one big reason you haven’t heard from me is that I’ve been busy dreaming up exactly what I want my Substack to be this year. And more importantly, how it can best serve you as you work to create the life of your f*cking dreams.
And I’m so, so excited to share what I’ve come up with…

First and foremost, it’s going to be all about community.
I talk about the importance of community all the time, and I’ve legit been blown away when I see people form meaningful connections and lifelong friendships at my workshops and retreats. I want this space to be a vehicle for that, too, and I know it can be.
But Tara, how are you going to do that?
I’M SO GLAD YOU ASKED! In a few ways…
First, I’ll be kicking off paid subscriber chats next Monday.
I’ll start the week with a thought-provoking question, giving you the floor to chat with each other (and of course with me). My dream is that you’ll take it offline and have in-person meetups, but let’s start here.
Then, I’ll also host monthly journaling sessions for paid subscribers (the first one is happening next Wednesday, January 28).
If you’re not an inner circle member, I hope the comments section of my free posts will also become a space for connection. Don’t worry, I’ll remind you to comment at the end of each of my letters so we can get the conversation started.
My subscriptions are $7 a month, which is less than the price of a latte at a fancy coffee shop these days (at least in my neighborhood!). But if you can’t afford a paid subscription right now, I do offer scholarship memberships. Shoot me an email at tara@taraschuster.com and I’ll comp you! No questions asked.
What else do I get when I subscribe?
So much! You’ll get a free weekly letter from me with hot pop culture takes (ICYMI: Is having a boyfriend embarrassing?), Ask T Anything advice columns, and essays where I share vulnerable stories and learnings.
I’m also going to be collabing with like-minded Substackers for monthly Substack Lives, which I think you’re going to love. Just wait until you see who I’m teaming up with.
Finally, you’ll get occasional downloadable worksheets, journaling challenges, freebies, and so much more, so stay tuned.
A few announcements!
Before I get going, some fun reminders and announcements:
My live journaling session is next Wednesday, January 28, at 5 p.m. PT. This is for inner circle members (paid subscribers) AND those who bought my journal!
If you’re a paid subscriber OR have purchased the journal, and you haven’t yet RSVPed, you can do so here.
Also, I was on a couple of podcasts hosted by amazing women talking about (you guessed it) journaling!
The Almost 30 Podcast: THIS Is The Most Underrated Tool For Your Mental Health
The Liz Moody Podcast: Stuck? The Science-Backed Tool To Finally Get What You Want
WOOF! That was a lot. But I’m rested, planned, and ready to grow and glow with YOU in 2026.
Much Love,
T$
