Let's talk manifesting—the art of turning your wildest dreams into reality…
Manifesting IRL: How I Met Kyle Richards and Ke$ha
Picture this: I’m at a fancy, serious, conference about reclaiming political power, armed with my trusty notebook and a dorky badge that I have tightened around my neck so that it’s high and unavoidable (how else will people know my name?!). But I’m also on a side mission—manifesting a meeting with Kyle Richards from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
If you know me, you know I’m a #RHOBH fangirl through and through and I knew from the show that Kyle loves Aspen and has a house there (stick with me - this is the creepiest this story gets!). Throughout the conference, I told anyone who would listen about my goal. Hero who is organizing communities in Kenya? Ohhhh Saleem, did you know I already manifested Kathy Hilton? Tibetan activist who is describing the risks every day people take to get information out of their country? Thank you for being an actual freedom fighter and did you know that the next season of RHOBH will feature Jennifer Tilly? All these luminaries? THEY’RE ALL hearing the, “I’m manifesting Kyle Richards” spiel. Most people politely nodded and went back to discussing democracy as was appropriate. But high-low culture keeps me sane, so I stayed committed. I texted my BFFs in LA, kept my eyes peeled, and trusted the universe.
On the last night, just as I was about to give up, I found myself in the lobby of a swanky hotel. And there she was—Kyle Freaking Richards! My body was shaking with nerves as I approached her. “Hi, I’m Tara. I swear I’m not creepy, I just manifested you…” I rambled. She didn’t miss a beat. “That’s sweet, do you want a picture?” I gasped, “Yes, I do!” And guess who took the photo? Icon from The Aughts turned thought leader for women’s rights, Ke$ha. Yes, the universe loves a good plot twist.

The takeaway? Manifesting works. Full stop. But it’s more than just a catch-phrase or mindset, it’s a very specific way you lead your life. Today I want to share with you my top manifesting tips and offer some journaling prompts to help you unleash your manifesting power!
Go Out on a Limb: TBH, I was afraid to go to Aspen. I had been invited basically every year since 2019 but had believed Aspen was only for the super wealthy and that I wasn’t good enough. This year I decided to see what would happen if I acted differently and went to this conference I had heard so much about instead of fretting about it. Instead of being small, I expanded. Your life stays the same if you stay the same. Want things to be different? ACT differently.
Prepare Like a Pro: Whether it’s getting myself into a conference that will enhance my understanding of the world, or a reality TV obsession, I engage with my life. I am rarely passive observer. If the universe is going to invest in you, you better engage and invest in the universe.
Make your intentions known: The universe can’t deliver if it doesn’t know what you want. I think the magic in telling the universe what you want is it forces you to clarify what you want for yourself. Say what you want, out loud and say it often. I am not someone who has ever hidden what I wanted to do. I don’t believe you will jinx yourself by saying what you want. Instead, I think of it like I’m daring the universe to conspire with me.
Hold Things Loosely: Act differently, prepare like a pro, make your intentions known, then let go. The universe has a way of surprising you when you least expect it but it CAN’T GIVE YOU SQUAT if you’re so busy death-gripping your desires that there’s no room for play, magic, or noticing that the person you have asked to take a photo of you with Kyle Richards is not a normal person at all, but the Icon, Ke$ha.
So now, let’s explore your relationship with manifesting…
Your Journal Prompts:
Manifesting Dreams: Reflect on a dream or goal you have. Write about why it matters to you and how achieving it would impact your life.
Changing Your Luck: For the above goal or dream, what can you do to help your odds of manifesting? What can you learn? Where do you need to go? What needs to be done?
Playing Small: What limiting beliefs are you holding about yourself? How are they holding you back and keeping you small? Where did they come from? Who gave them to you? What would it take to let them go?
Stepping Out of Your Comfort Zone: Describe a time when you went out on a limb for something you wanted. How did it feel? What was the outcome?
Preparation and Passion: Think about something you’re passionate about. How can you prepare more thoroughly to bring that passion to life? What steps can you take today?
Highs and Lows: Explore how you balance high culture (serious, intellectual pursuits) and low culture (guilty pleasures). How do both contribute to your overall well-being?
Learning and Growing: Write about something new you’ve learned recently that excites you. How can you integrate this new knowledge into your life?
Magic in the Mundane: Reflect on a simple, everyday moment that felt magical to you. How can you cultivate more of these moments in your daily life?
I want to hear from you:

T$’S Stamp Of Approval
A potpourri of things I fully endorse!
This episode of To Be Magnetic where I discussed manifesting. I got SO much positive feedback about it - I think you’ll enjoy!
This book about sexuality for those dealing with cancer. Tess Devèze began as a reader of mine but soon I became a reader of their’s. I am AWED by Tess’s courage and their commitment to support intimacy for people with cancer, disability, and chronic illness. Their book gave me a more complete picture of what it means to be human.
This AMAZING event in Chicago where you will meet an author who is dying to meet you…😘😘😘😘
Thanks for sharing your experiences in Aspen and the practical steps for manifesting an expanded life, Tara. It's timely I read your newsletter today because I have been reflecting on 2 positive life-expanding experiences for me: surfing in the Atlantic Ocean and performing music in new locations.
Your list of practical steps resonates with me, especially the steps about preparing like a pro and communicating your goals and intentions.
This is an inspiring newsletter, and I look forward to reading next time! Sending you a hug and good vibes
Amazing!!!! Goodbye Kyle!
