But first, I have a job opening for you!

I am looking for a social media ace to translate my message of self-care across all of the platforms!  Ideally you’re wildly creative, LOVE making content for social media, and are one of my peeps - someone who was moved by Lilies, Glow, this newsletter, or any of my work so that we are already on the same page. Plus, I’d love to hire from within our community. Bonus points if you are well versed in Substack as well!

More details on the role can be found here. If the role isn’t for you - please forward to someone you think it might be a perfect fit for!

Let’s text, create, and change the world!

And now, onto this week’s reflections….

On Friday, I told you about my friend whose mom guilt-tripped her into a family event where she knew she wouldn’t feel safe. I reminded her (and maybe you?) that she’s the f*cking diamond necklace - valuable, precious, worthy - and just because someone mistreats something beautiful doesn’t mean it isn’t still beautiful.

Now I want you to write your version of this story.

Because journaling about these experiences - bringing coherence and language to chaos - is one of the most studied, most effective ways to make yourself feel better. Like, real science says this helps:

Studies on expressive writing have shown that when people write about difficult experiences for even 15 minutes a day, they experience measurable improvements in physical health, immune function, and emotional resilience. (Pennebaker & Smyth, 2016)

IMMUNE FUNCTION, YOU GUYS! So today, we’re doing a little meaning-making of our own.
